Once again, God made all things possible for our 3rd Annual H.U.G.S. (Help Unite Give Serve) Event to take place this year. In His timing, provisions and guidance, we were able to accomplished all of the task at hand. We deeply appreciate every single donors,benefactors, and sponsors, who gave their resources to support our cause. In addition, we owe our gratitude to all our friends, families, churches and its members, and neighbors who volunteered their time & efforts, dedicated their skills and talent, shared their ability and strength to make this occasion a very memorable one! With everyone's help, we've reached our goal and served 800-1000 individuals/families and led a number of people to Christ!

3rd ANNUAL H.U.G.S.(Help Unite Give Serve) PROJECT
September 3,2011 at Woodley Park Van Nuys, California

This is the event you've been waiting for! H.U.G.S.(Help Unite Give Serve) Project is our yearly outreach program that provides a hopeful solution to the many problems facing poor families in our communities, especially in the midst of economic depression. This one amazing day event will consist of neighboring vendors offering their services through job fairs, children’s games and activities with school supplies giveaways, family affairs, picnic at the park, vaccines, food/grocery distributions, beauty and grooming, spiritual and personal development aspects, prizes and raffle drawings, live entertainment (live bands, poetry, dancing, etc), and much more.

ROMAH Foundation, Inc. will empower families and/or individuals to change the economic landscape of our communities and the attitude with hope towards better future goals. We also work in conjunction with other organization as we believe that through a combination of outreach efforts, new employment and educational opportunities, H.U.G.S. (Help Unite Give Serve) Project will not only provide 1,000 families and/or homeless individuals with food supplies but also with life-time tools for improvement opportunities. Proudly, after two years of program development, we easily established a replicable model; a high degree of credibility among community groups and various benefactors.

Working together, we can make a difference in the lives of these people and the future of our local communities. Every aspect of our program initiative have been carefully crafted to cultivate all the contributing factors necessary in achieving a great, well-balanced and sound community around us. "YOUNG DREAMERS" goes to school...

ROMAH Foundation, Inc. went on their 2nd mission trip to the Philippines on May-June 2010.

This summer, we began our "YOUNG DREAMERS" Scholarship and Sponsorship Program in partnership with Servants of the Divine Mercy Community (SDMC). The candidates for our program were personally chosen from different tribal places of San Carlos, Iloilo, Himamaylan, and Binalbagan, Negros Occidental; all of these towns are located in Visayas, Philippines. (The majority of our scholars live in these remote and mountainous areas. Transportation is scarce. Children would walk to school for long hours in the heat of the sun, and even through the pouring rain!).

We carefully evaluate and assess the status of each scholar. Our selection process is based on the criteria of their overall grades given from previous school years, current living situations, and family program participation.
Through the help of our donors, ROMAH Foundation, Inc.was able to process the enrollment of 100 elementary students for this school year 2010-2011. During which, we distributed a number of backpacks for them. Each backpack was meticulously embroidered with our logo and the message "RENEW OUR MINDS AND HEARTS", by Yelena of “I Stitch & Print” (Van Nuys, California). We filled each bag with school supplies including toothbrushes too,(courtesy of Dr.Carmen Uy, DDS of St. Therese Dental (Glendale, CA). That's not all folks. We also gave them brand new shoes!!!
A special thanks to Dr. Harold Noel of HAITIAN AMERICAN FOOD BANK for contributing a wide array of footwear. Seeing the kids leap for joy and having the best time of their lives when they received their gifts, was very heart-warming and a sight to see!

In addition, we initiated the rehabilitation of a 3-story building; a youth formation and crisis center for the community. We replaced the dilapidated roofs and ceilings, repaired broken windows and doors, and painted walls in the hallways and rooms. Moreover, we made an effort to build a small library. All the book references, learning CD’s, tapes, and interactive videos, were provided by Robyn Murphy and Pastor Tim Oden of In His Presesence Church (IHPC),and other reading materials were provided by Shideh Afshar & Family. We also supplied the library with a set of computers, donated by Bishop Stewart. The volunteer workers, missionaries, and poor families in the community received clothing from Saeed & Terry Massoumi.
While we were there, we also attended the 25th Year Anniversary Celebration of Servants of the Divine Mercy Community. Now, that's the way to end the mission trip...joining the feast with good Filipino food!

ROMAH feeds the Valley

ROMAH Foundation Inc. held a successful "Life In Waiting" FOOD DRIVE at Sharp Elementary School in Arleta, California.
A massive amount of canned goods and non-perishable items were collected and later were distributed to various locations.

Portion of the items were donated to few food banks in San Fernando Valley to serve families in crisis.

On July 18, 2009 ROMAH donated food items to M.E.N.D (Meet Each Need With Dignity) the largest poverty agency in the Valley providing emergency food, clothing, medical, and job training to underprivileged in the community.

We also contributed an amount of food items to VIC Food Pantry Coalition in Pacoima, who serve seniors, the hungry, and disadvantaged families.

On July 20, 2009 we also gave away individual grocery bags for the homeless in Van Nuys, along with the rescue S.O.S. (Survival Outreach Services) meals outreach program by Rescue Mission Alliance.

ROMAH meets Philippine President

On June 20, 2009 Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo had a brief visit in Los Angeles, California.

ROMAH Foundation, Inc. joined FILAM to welcome her presence. A breakfast meeting was held at Sheraton Hotel (LAX).

Ruth Ann Jardinaso and Naseem Murakami (ROMAH founders) had the opportunity to share with the President about "Life In Waiting", their first international project benefiting the rural areas of the Philippines.
